The Overwhelmed Mom's Guide to Finding Calm and Joy By: Virginija Rainiene

Are you a busy mom struggling with overwhelm and anxiety? Discover how to reclaim your time, reduce stress, and find more joy in motherhood with this practical guide. Learn simple yet effective strategies for creating a calmer and more fulfilling life.

Being a mom is a beautiful and rewarding experience, but it can also be overwhelming. Between work, family, and household chores, it's easy to feel like you're constantly running on empty. If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't despair. There are things you can do to find calm and joy in your life.

Here are a few tips:

  • Set realistic expectations. Don't try to be everything to everyone. It's okay to say no sometimes.
  • Take breaks. Schedule some time for yourself each day, even if it's just for a few minutes. Take a walk, read a book, or take a bath.
  • Delegate tasks. Ask your partner, family, or friends for help with chores and errands.
  • Get organized. A cluttered home can lead to a cluttered mind. Take some time to declutter your home and create a system for organizing your belongings.
  • Practice self-care. Make sure you're taking care of your physical and mental health. Eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly.
  • Connect with other moms. Talking to other moms can help you feel less alone and more supported.
  • Find a hobby. Having a hobby can help you relax and de-stress.
  • Set boundaries. It's important to set boundaries between your work life and your personal life.
  • Practice gratitude. Take some time each day to appreciate the good things in your life.
  • Seek professional help. If you're struggling to cope with overwhelm, don't hesitate to seek professional help.

Remember, it's okay to ask for help. You don't have to do it all alone. With a little effort, you can find calm and joy in your life, even when things are hectic.

Additional tips:

  • Don't be afraid to let go of perfectionism. It's okay if things aren't perfect all the time.
  • Find a support system. Surround yourself with people who love and support you.
  • Don't compare yourself to other moms. Everyone's journey is different.
  • Celebrate your accomplishments. Take time to celebrate your successes, no matter how small.
  • Be kind to yourself. You're doing the best you can.

Finding calm and joy as an overwhelmed mom is possible. It takes time, effort, and self-compassion, but it's worth it. By implementing these tips, you can create a more peaceful and fulfilling life for yourself and your family.

    Junk Journaling

Junk journaling is a wonderfully creative and free-form way to express yourself! It's all about using found and recycled materials to create a unique and personal book. Think of it as a scrapbook with a more artistic and less structured approach.     Here's a breakdown of what makes a junk journal, and I'll try to paint a picture with words since I can't physically show you one: The Base: This is often made from recycled book pages, file folders, envelopes, or even fabric scraps sewn together. Imagine old book covers repurposed into a new spine and pages. The Pages: These are the heart of the journal and can be a mix of anything! Think: Torn or cut out pieces from magazines, newspapers, maps, sheet music. Pretty patterned paper scraps. Old letters, postcards, receipts, tickets.     Fabric scraps, lace, doilies.     Photos (both new and old). Handwritten notes, poems, or doodles. Pressed flowers, leaves, or other ephemera. ...
