Classic French Hot Chocolate Recipe

Here's how to make classic French Hot Chocolate (Chocolat Chaud):

Ingredients:

 * 1 cup whole milk

 * 1/4 cup heavy cream

 * 4 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped

 * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 * 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee or espresso powder (optional)

 * Sugar to taste (optional)

 * Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions:

 * Combine and Heat: In a small saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, and chopped chocolate. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.

 * Add Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and instant coffee or espresso powder, if using.

 * Sweeten (Optional): Taste and add sugar to your preference.

 * Serve: Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, if desired.

Tips for the Best French Hot Chocolate:

 * Use high-quality chocolate: The richer the chocolate, the more intense the flavor.

 * Don't boil: Bring the mixture just to a simmer to prevent scorching.

 * Whisk constantly: This ensures smooth melting of the chocolate and prevents lumps.

 * Adjust sweetness: Taste and add sugar gradually to your liking. Some people prefer their French Hot Chocolate unsweetened.

 * Garnish: Get creative with toppings! Try chocolate shavings, cinnamon, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Enjoy your decadent cup of French Hot Chocolate! cream for topping

Junk Journaling

    Junk journaling is a wonderfully creative and free-form way to express yourself! It's all about using found and recycled materials to create a unique and personal book. Think of it as a scrapbook with a more artistic and less structured approach.     Here's a breakdown of what makes a junk journal, and I'll try to paint a picture with words since I can't physically show you one: The Base: This is often made from recycled book pages, file folders, envelopes, or even fabric scraps sewn together. Imagine old book covers repurposed into a new spine and pages. The Pages: These are the heart of the journal and can be a mix of anything! Think: Torn or cut out pieces from magazines, newspapers, maps, sheet music. Pretty patterned paper scraps. Old letters, postcards, receipts, tickets.     Fabric scraps, lace, doilies.     Photos (both new and old). Handwritten notes, poems, or doodles. Pressed flowers, leaves, or other ephemera. ...
